Picky Parent Guide: Choose Your Child's School With Confidence, the Elementary Years, K-6
Mood:  a-ok
Very good reference on the variety of elementary schools (K-6) and the services that each can offer. Guidelines on which factors parents should consider in choosing a school for their children were also given. School administrators and teachers were also informed on how the parents will choose a school. School administrators and teachers were made to be aware of on how to meet the parents' expectations while conforming to the educational goals and standards. A more sociable approach for schools.

Data Wise: A Step-by-Step Guide to Using Assessment Results to Improve Teaching And Learning by Kathryn Parker Boudett

Very good reference. Recommended by ABCTE, an alternative route to teaching in USA. ABCTE is a very rigorous program.

Data Wise contains examples and graphs. The book explains how grades can be plotted on a graph, individual and group, to achieve the learning goal. With the use of the graph, teaching methods can be modified in order to meet the required learning goal. Achievement of students can be clearly seen on the graph whether they are doing well or not. Teachers are aided in planning lessons more effectively.

Violence, Society, and the Church: A Cultural Approach by Gerald A. Arbuckle

Excellent! This book explains the fragile relationship between the culture of a society to religious beliefs and practices. Full of examples, case studies, historical and biblical references as well as the Gospel message. The importance of moderation and Christian way of life is the solution to extremism, fanaticism and terrorism. We are also being warned of our rigid institutionalism and bureaucracies that brought about hardship and dissatisfaction among the people, while privileges among the few.

Funny, humorous, and critical. Portrays the contrasting characters of holiness and unholiness, sinners and saints, and saneness and craziness of all the people in this world. Takes a look on how people try to achieve the heavenly ideals in a worldly community.
